Atresmedia, the leading Spanish media group, announced a collaboration with Google Cloud to continue its commitment to innovation in the media industry, also using artificial intelligence (AI). The company will leverage Google Cloud’s technology to develop and implement cutting-edge AI solutions to optimize internal processes and create pioneering use cases for the media sector.
This collaboration builds on a strong existing relationship between the two companies. Atresmedia was the first local player in Spain to integrate its Atresplayer streaming service into the Google ecosystem through Nest and Google TV devices while using Google Cloud. Now, Atresmedia is taking its collaboration with Google Cloud to the next level by exploring the transformative potential of AI.
José María Martínez, Production Director and CTO at Atresmedia highlighted the opportunities enabled by the agreement: "Atresmedia has important challenges associated with the capabilities of AI to lead innovation in the media industry, as well as in the production and distribution of audiovisual content. Google Cloud is a strategic technology provider to develop and implement Atresmedia projects, which include solutions that will improve our operations and provide new and better experiences to our viewers, users, and clients", explained.
Atresmedia is already developing initiatives using Google Cloud’s technologies, including an automatic dubbing solution for content that is currently only available in Spanish, as well as a system that will improve the efficiency and quality of content audio description. Atresmedia is also exploring other potential use cases for AI in various areas.
