Banijay Live has announced the launch of Banijay Live Studio, a new label dedicated to the creation and production of out-of-home entertainment experiences. Leveraging Banijay Entertainment’s renowned track record in top-tier production, this initiative will strengthen its reputation in the field of immersive events and experiences.

Out-of-home activities are on the rise. According to Aviseo, the market is expected to grow by an average of 7% per year until 2027. Capitalizing on this trend, Banijay Live Studio aims to develop a portfolio of innovative experiences designed to bring people together—whether family, friends, or colleagues. From immersive exhibitions and life-sized action games to virtual reality journeys and video-projected experiences, each original themed offering will cater to broad audiences.

The new unit will be led by newly appointed Senior Producer Tristan Desplechin, under the leadership of Banijay Live’s CEO, François de Brugada. A seasoned entrepreneur and pioneer in the field, Desplechin brings 15 years of cross-sector experience and gained recognition for creating France’s first immersive cinema in 2020.

With original curation at the heart of its mission, the new label will have full access to Banijay Entertainment’s extensive catalog of iconic IP as a source of inspiration. It will also tap into the expertise of Banijay Entertainment, Balich Wonder Studio, and the recently acquired LOTCHI. Additionally, Banijay Live Studio will collaborate with a carefully selected network of creative agencies and independent talent.

Following the traditional IP expansion model, Banijay Live Studio will develop local experiences with an eye on international rollout. With an initial slate of projects already in the works, the label’s first initiative will be a virtual reality experience based on Black Mirror, one of Banijay Entertainment’s most renowned franchises.

François de Brugada, CEO of Banijay Live, provided details about the new venture: “The market for new forms of out-of-home entertainment experiences remains fragmented, with no clear leader emerging, creating a vast opportunity for growth. By leveraging our expertise, our extensive internal and external networks, and Banijay Entertainment’s valuable IP portfolio, we are in a strong position to launch and scale high-potential projects with significant global appeal," commented.

Tristan Desplechin, Senior Producer of Banijay Live Studio, focused on the impact on audiences: “The entrepreneurial DNA and international expertise that run through the Banijay family give us the ability to push the boundaries of creativity and deliver groundbreaking experiences worldwide. We are convinced that these initiatives will have a profound impact on how audiences perceive and engage with out-of-home entertainment, opening up endless possibilities;" added.

This announcement follows Banijay Live’s recent acquisition of LOTCHI, a company specializing in immersive live experiences and the creator of LUMINISCENCE.
