Banijay's "Boomerissima" to have its first adaptation abroad

Content powerhouse, Banijay Entertainment, announced the first international adaptation of Banijay Italia’s variety show, "Boomerissima". Endemol Shine Poland has begun filming the new series which will air on TVP this September. Popular presenter, actor and singer, Barbara Kurdej-Szatan, will host.

"Boomerissima" (tilted "Cudowne lata" in Poland) is an entertainment gameshow pitting generations against each other to prove their superiority. Every episode sees celebrities from different eras take each other on, as they highlight TV shows, movies, music, famous names, adverts and more, to refute stereotypes and determine whether things were better in the past or the present. However, the studio audience has the final say about which generation will come out on top. 

Originally created by Banijay Italia, the first series on Rai 2 outperformed across all demographics. A second run in Italy was confirmed and aired at the end of last year. Endemol Shine Poland has over 20 years’ experience producing hit shows including local adaptations of renowned brands "Don’t Forget the lyrics", "MasterChef", "LEGO Masters", "All Together Now"," You Can Dance", "New Generation", "Money Drop" and "BigBrother" amongst others. In addition, it is behind premium scripted programmingsuch as "Our Century for TVP 1, and Squared Love for Netflix.

Małgorzata Perkowska-Czaja, MD, Endemol Shine Poland praised the format: “This is the first ever season in Poland and we are very excited to show this format. It’s a winning combination of quiz show, music programme, dance spectacle, and even talk show. Incorporating the studio audience brings a lively atmosphere to the episodes, whichaudiences at home will love," noted.
