BBC Studios productions has appointed Jane Lomas as Director of Programs for Factual Entertainment and Events. “I’m absolutely thrilled to have Jane join the team where with her considerable experience and track record, she’ll help us continue to build on the strength of our Heritage Brand portfolio and much loved titles," Juliet Rice, Creative Director of Factual Entertainment in Bristol and Cardiff said.
Under her new role, Lomas will contribute senior editorial support to producers and senior editors across the department’s heritage brands teams and oversee operations and finance. She will assume the new position immediately. She will report to Creative Director of Factual Entertainment in Bristol and Cardiff, BBC Studios Factual Entertainment and Events Juliet Rice.
BBC Studios Factual Entertainment and Events is credited with producing popular British programming, including "Countryfile," "DIY SOS," "Antiques Roadshow," "Gardeners World" and "Bargain Hunt." Factual Entertainment and Events are also responsible for some of BBC Studios’ biggest brands and titles including "Top Gear," "Dragons’ Den," "Antiques Roadshow," "Amazing Hotels," "Morning Live," in addition to the Royal Ceremonial Event coverage including the Queen’s State Funeral and The Earthshot Prize.
Lomas has years of experience in factual entertainment and specialist factual programming under her belt. Joining from her role as Series Editor of Countryfile (BBC One), Lomas has previously held roles as Executive Producer and Series Editor/Producer across a range of programming, including Man V Wild for Channel 4/Discovery, Animal Park for BBC One, Streetmate for Channel 4, Tribal Wives for BBC Two, Inside the National Trust for ITV, Scrapheap Challenge for Channel 4 and Emergency Bikers for Channel 5.
