Beta Film has sold the Italian WWII drama Elsa Morante’s "La Storia" to the North American streaming service MHz Choice for the US and Canada, while YES and HOT acquired the series for Israel. This is adding to the deals already closed with all Nordic pubcasters (NRK in Norway, YLE in Finland, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark, RUV in Island), among others.
The series is produced by Picomedia ("The Sea Beyond" producer Roberto Sessa), Thalie Images (Stéphane Moatti), in collaboration with Rai Fiction (Maria Pia Ammirati, Francesco Nardella, Francesca Tura, Daria Hensemberger), and in co-production with Beta (Koby Gal-Raday, Ferdinand Dohna). Beta Film handles world sales.

Elsa Morante’s "La Storia" (8x1h) is directed by Francesca Archibugi ("Romanzo famigliare"), who co-wrote the screenplay with Francesco Piccolo ("My Brilliant Friend"), Giulia Calenda, and Ilaria Macchia ("both Petra – Death Rites"). Primetime Emmy nominee Luca Bigazzi (Paolo Sorrentino’s "The Great Beauty", "Il Divo") served as DOP, set design was done by Ludovica Ferrario ("The Young Pope"), Catherine Buyse ("The New Pope", "Spiderman - Far From Home") and Valentina Monticelli were responsible for costume design.
