After the debut season of the “Truthseekers” series became a hit around the world, factual production company and channel provider Big Media has green-lit a second season of its popular historical/investigative series “Truthseekers: Greatest Mysteries” (8x60’).

According to the company, sales of the first season of “Truthseekers” continue to be robust. The latest broadcast and digital platforms to license this co-production with RMC in France and Wildbear in Australia include N-TV (Germany), A&E (Latin America), and Filmrise (United States and Canada). Off the Fence has been signed on to handle all other global rights for the series.

The second season of “Truthseekers: Greatest Mysteries” will look at a new set of iconic and enduring mysteries known around the world, including those unanswered questions around the disappearance of Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, the impossibly advanced construction of the ancient Incan city Machu Picchu, the controversy around the Shroud of Turin, and why it took nearly 2.200 years to discover the vast and most important tomb site in China housing the now-famous Terracotta Warriors.

“Season one of this series is a tremendous success for Big Media. For this new season, we are using the same format to look at some of the most-famous and baffling mysteries of the ancient world and have gathered together a team of truth seekers who always bring the latest research and current academic thinking on each subject. Broadcasters continue to look for returnable series, and we are confident that this new season will be even more successful than the first,”  said Ronan Hand, Executive Producer of “Truthseekers” at Big Media.

Big Media is also spinning off its “Truthseekers” franchise into a new series focusing on some of the most iconic and enduring unsolved cases of the 20th Century. “Truthseekers: Unsolved Crimes” looks at the questions that challenged the detectives who investigated, puzzled journalists who reported the cases, and frustrated the lawyers who prosecuted. Utilizing a team with backgrounds in criminal psychology, serious crime detection, forensics, criminal law and social history, each episode pieces together the known contemporary views and historical details while exploring old and new theories.
