Peninsula Television launches "Butchers of L.A." a new 3 x 60’ boxset about three serial killers who operated in 1970’s and 80’s Los Angeles. The series was ordered by AMC’s Sundance Now and Channel 5, and is distributed globally by Sphere Abacus

Shannon Cooper, Vice President, Programming, Sundance Now, shared: “The Butchers of L.A. is a chilling and meticulously crafted true crime series that sheds new light on a terrifying chapter in southern California history. With its gripping storytelling and deep investigative approach, viewers will be left stunned by the twisted realities behind these horrifying crimes.”

Mariana Rios Sanchez, Producer of Butchers of L.A., said: "We are delighted to be renewing our successful production partnership with Sundance Now on another compelling piece of true crime television. We focused on speaking with those who witnessed these crimes unfold firsthand, from investigators to journalists, and those closest to the victims. This is a deep retrospective on a dark chapter in Southern California’s history”.

"Butchers of L.A." sheds new light on the horrifying crimes of Patrick Kearney, William Bonin and Randy Kraft, three predators who terrorised southern California over two decades, targeting young men and killing over fifty victims between them. While the three serial killers operated independently, their overlapping methods and victim profiles confounded law enforcement, creating years of uncertainty over just who was responsible for which of the murders. Through in-depth interviews, archival footage and expert analysis, the series meticulously details the killings, exposing the dark side of Los Angeles like never before.

The series unravels the killer’s parallel killing sprees, exposing the dark underbelly of L.A. in that period. With unexpected twists and sharp investigative storytelling, Butchers of L.A. is set to be a must-watch for true crime enthusiasts.
