Turkish series “Forbidden Fruit,” distributed by Calinos Entertainment and produced by Medyapim, which is now in its fifth season with high and steady ratings on Fox Turkey, continues to be successful all over Latin America, as the show will now land in Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and Chile.

The successful run began at the end of 2020, when the series arrived at prime time on TVN Panama, immediately captivating its growing audience. Mexico became the second country to present “Pecado Original,” the name with which it became known on Imagen Televisión, occupying a prominent time slot on its billboard. The success of the series continued to spread until this year it reached Latina Peru and Telefuturo Paraguay

In the series, Yıldız and Zeynep are two sisters who are very close but have very different characters and life goals. Yıldız’s life is about to take a new turn when she meets Ender Argun. Ender’s aim is to divorce her husband Halit, without losing her position within Istanbul’s high society circle as well as her financial status, so she comes up with a plan to set him up with a girl and consequently blame him for infidelity, which would get her a high compensation in court. The girl she’s looking for is no one else but Yıldız.

"While 2021 was a great year for ‘Forbidden Fruit’ in Turkey and all continents where it was sold, we are certain that 2022 will be even a greater year for ‘Forbidden Fruit,’"  commented Duda Rodrigues, Latin American Sales Director at Calinos Entertainment.

“This 2022 is the year of ‘Forbidden Fruit.’ The show will be broadcasted on the most prestigious channels in Latin America, whose programming performances are always a reference for success,”  added Jose Luis Gascue, EVP Head of Worldwide Sales at Calinos Entertainment.
