For the fourth year in a row, the Canada Media Fund (CMF) and the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture of the Republic of South Africa, have renewed their dedicated incentive for the codevelopment of television projects between Canadian producers and South African producers.

To qualify, projects must involve producers eligible under criteria from both organizations. Eligible projects are television programs in drama, documentary, children, and youth genres. The closing date for applications is October 30, 2020.

The total amount of funding available through the Incentive is approximately CAD $195,000 or ZAR 2,400,000, with each funding organization contributing approximately half of the funds. The total maximum contribution for each project funded through the Incentive is CAD $65,000 or ZAR 800,000.

The CMF and NFVF have since 2017-2018 invested $346,000 in the codevelopment of nine audiovisual projects.
