Four major European broadcasters have signed up for the 3D animation Special "A Lamb’s Stew" from La Cabane and Thuristar. Canal+ in France, VRT-Ketnet in Belgium, ZDF in Germany and RTS in Switzerland have joined this original creation by Joeri Christiaen, produced by Perrine Gauthier.

“We're thrilled to welcome these four excellent partners at the table of 'A Lamb’s Stew', a film that illustrates the creative ambition and diversity of projects we strive for.” says Perrine Gauthier, co-founder of La Cabane, partner of Thuristar and producer of the Special.

"A Lamb’s Stew" is a 26-minute modern tale for a family audience produced in the open-source Blender software. Written and directed by Joeri Christiaen, the animated special is produced by Perrine Gauthier (La Cabane and Thuristar) in co-production with VRT-Ketnet and ZDF and with the participation of Canal+ and RTS Radio Télévision Suisse.

The film tells the story of Billie, a young lamb determined to prove that sheep are just as brave as other animals. Billie devises a plan to lure a wolf into a trap, only to realize he may not be the monster she was led to believe. Through her journey, the story challenges assumptions and celebrates individuality, inviting viewers to not judge a sheep by its wool, nor a wolf by its fur.

The film is helmed by Joeri Christiaen ("Mush-Mush") as director and art director. Joeri Christiaen is also the film’s scriptwriter; he worked with Claire Paoletti ("Shoom's Odyssey") as story consultant during the project’s initial development phase, and with Julia Smuts Louw ("Star Wars: Visions – Aau’s Song") as Story Editor for the final script.

The cast includes Andy Serkis ("Lord of the Rings"), T'Nia Miller ("Sex Education") and upcoming talent Iris Onyejiuwa in the lead roles.
These commitments were confirmed just a few months after the project was pitched at Cartoon Forum 2024 where it ranked as the most attended presentation, both among European coproductions and in terms of global presence.
