“Canadian Family’s Got Talent” contest, Canada’s version of “America’s Got Talent” will premiere this summer on Citytv and Citytv NOW, between 27th April and 26th May. Simon Cowell, the creator of “America’s Got Talent,” will be hosting the month-long talent contest with thousands in cash and prize. The format was created by Simon Cowell and is co-owned by Syco Entertainment and Fremantle. The deal was brokered by Fremantle's Michela Di Mondo.“What better way to celebrate such a feel-good show than by launching “Canadian Family’s Got Talent,” an innovative contest that will connect and bring people together at a time when we have to safely stay apart." Citytv is hosting an open casting call in search of the most talented troupe with the new contest taking place for the premiere of Season 15 of the show, presented by Canadian Tire. The channel is inviting Canadians to showcase their unique talents alongside their families, closest companions, or support networks from a distance for their chance to win thousands in cash and prizes, all from the comfort of their living rooms. Select “Canadian Family’s Got Talent” entries will be featured on the expanded national hour of Breakfast Television starting May 1 and posted for online voting on May 14. Entries are being accepted until 13th May and select contest submissions will be highlighted daily on Breakfast Television Canada from May 1 to 14 and posted online for voting between 14 to 19 May. “Now more than ever, family is defined by the support networks around us,” said Laura Reiter, Executive Producer of In-House Productions, Citytv. “In launching the Canadian Family’s Got Talent contest, we are celebrating the talents that both make us unique yet unite us during trying times.” Cowell will judge the three finalists live on Breakfast Television Canada, alongside hosts Dina Pugliese and Devo Brown. “When I heard about this idea, I thought it was brilliant,” said Cowell. “In every country in the world there’s always undiscovered talent, and I’m certain there’s plenty to be found in Canada. I can’t wait. This should be a lot of fun."
