DeAPlaneta Entertainment and Fourth Wall’'s "Milo" launches on Mango TV in China

The animated preschool coproduction became available on 30 January.

 DeAPlaneta Entertainment and Fourth Wall’s animated preschool coproduction "Milo" launched on Chinese screens on Monday, January 30 via Mango TV. The company has also secured multiple licensing deals, covering fashion, publishing, educational games and toys, food, etc. across Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, UK, Ireland, Andorra, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, as well as Latin America and Spanish-speaking areas in the US. Furthermore, this year renowned brand Bandai will roll out the first ever MILO toy range, including soft toys, figurines and playsets, vehicles and electronic educational devices, among others. 

The launch forms part of the company's strategy to globally expand "Milo" following its release in four continents. The title has now been acquired in Spain by in Spain by Clan TV, in the UK by Milkshake/Channel 5, in Portugal by RTP, in Poland by MiniMini+ and Pulse TV, in Italy by RAI YOYO, DeAJunior and TIM Vision, in Australia by ABC Kids, in Hungary by MTVA, in Switzerland by RSI, in Netherlands by Kidzone, in former Yugoslavia by Talent Show, in the Middle East by JimJam and Majid), in Russia by Ivi, in Latin America via Cartoonito and HBO Max, in Finland by YLE, in Sweden by SVT, and Czech Republic by Česká televise. It will soon make its way to New Zealand on TVNZ, Portugal on Canal Panda and Israel on Noga.

Produced by Fourth Wall and DeAPlaneta Entertainment, the production was supported by the British Government's Youth Content Fund, which is managed by the BFI and supports the creation of distinctive and quality content for young audiences. The fund aims to provide content that informs our understanding of the world, stimulate knowledge and learning, while representing diversity and alternative points of view. DeAPlaneta Entertainment owns and manages worldwide consumer products rights for the series. 

Since its launch in the UK on Channel 5’s kids’ channel Milkshake!, the title has received high ratings and reached more than 6 million views on the official YouTube channel in English. MILO has also launched YouTube channels in another five languages (Spanish, LATAM Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and Polish), which have accumulated 9.5 million views and 4.1 million individual viewers. MILO’s community is growing constantly on social media: MILO has over 65K followers on Zigazoo, the biggest social network for kids, and recently created pages on Instagram and Facebook in English, Spanish and Italian, as well as a profile on LinkedIn. 

The  animated series targeted at preschoolers follows good friends Lofty and Lark, to explore various professions, such asdoctors and mechanics, to hairdressers, chefs and postal workers, introducing pre-schoolers to a variety of professions in a positive, fun way. The title was recognized as the 2022 Best Children's series at the prestigious British Animation Awards, and Bronze at the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards.
