Vrinda Sood
Digitoonz Media & Entertainment, a leading global animation studio headquartered in India with offices across the US and Europe, has announced the appointment of Vrinda Sood as Vice President. In her new leadership role, Sood will drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, expanding the studio’s client base, and forging high-impact strategic partnerships.
Her appointment represents a key step in Digitoonz’s long-term strategy to broaden its commercial reach and strengthen its position in the global animation, VFX, and gaming sectors. She will also play a vital role in developing innovative business verticals and fostering cross-sector creative collaborations.
Sood brings to Digitoonz over a decade of multifaceted experience across advertising, branded content, OTT animation shows, TV series, and feature films — covering both animation and VFX. Her expertise spans both the creative and business sides of the industry, with a proven track record in scaling operations, building strategic alliances, and integrating emerging technologies. Her experience navigating international markets and leading innovation in production pipelines — including the use of AI and Unreal Engine — makes her ideally suited to guide Digitoonz through its next phase of expansion.
Sood will assume this new role while continuing as CEO of Citrus Ink Studios, the company she founded and transformed from a boutique studio into a globally recognized creative force. Under her leadership, Citrus Ink has delivered successful collaborations with major brands and production companies such as Coca-Cola, Hector Beverages (known for "Paperboat"), Thums Up with Ogilvy & Mather, Arctic Fox, Havells Home Appliances with Lowe Lintas, Upstox, and Hero Xtreme, among others. In December 2024, Citrus Ink and Digitoonz formed a strategic partnership to launch DGX — a joint venture focused on next-generation VFX, animation, and gaming services, grounded in innovation and cutting-edge technology. The exec has overseen numerous award-winning projects throughout her career. Her short film "The Social Chameleon" received international acclaim, earning 57 official festival selections, including 17 Academy Award-qualifying events.
Vikas Kumar, CEO and Founder of Digitoonz Media & Entertainment praised the exec: "We are thrilled to welcome Vrinda to the Digitoonz executive team. Her dynamic vision, global perspective, and deep industry expertise will be invaluable as we continue to expand our portfolio, strengthen long-term strategic partnerships, and reinforce Digitoonz's position as a leading player in the global entertainment industry. She is a deeply skilled professional with an advantageous understanding of the progressively evolving sector, setting us up for further success," expressed.
Finally, Vrinda Sood embraced the challenges to come: "I’m honored to step into the role of Vice President at Digitoonz, a studio I’ve long admired and collaborated with closely through Citrus Ink and, more recently, DGX. This is an exciting time of evolution and expansion for the company, and I’m thrilled to contribute to its next phase of growth. I can’t wait to see the amazing work we’ll accomplish together," expressed.
