Dori Media Group’s psychological drama “In Treatment” is set to start production on its sixth season for Brazil’s Globoplay, where it is produced locally by Moonshot and known as “Sessão de Terapia.” This was announced by Nadav Palti, CEO & President of Dori Media Group.

Originally titled “BeTipul,” “In Treatment” is considered one of the most successful TV format exports in the world and the series has been remade in over 20 territories globally, including the U.S. with HBO Max, Brazil with Globoplay, TV5 in Canada and Japan with Nippon TV. The format was originally created by Sheleg Productions’ award-winning producer Hagai Levi, who is known for “Scenes from a Marriage” and “The Affair.”

Since 2019, Globo/Globoplay has partnered with Moonshot in Brazil, marking the show's premiere on Globoplay and GNT, the cable channel that has aired the series since its inception. And “Sessão de Terapia” has consistently been one of the most-watched series on both platforms.

“We are thrilled that Globoplay and Moonshot are bringing ‘In Treatment’ back to the Brazilian audience that has enjoyed this special series for many seasons now,” said Dori Media’s Palti. “This is a format that continues to resonate across the globe and we’re excited that others are looking to launch and produce further seasons in the new year, as well.”

“The challenge of being innovative and creating complex, passionate characters within the delicate field of therapy and a globally successful franchise is something we embrace with joy and reflects our artistic mission,” added Roberto d’Avila, Moonshot CEO.

No other country has produced more seasons of “In Treatment” than Brazil, which is set to begin production on its sixth season in late 2025. The Brazilian series is directed by Selton Mello (“I’m Still Here”), who has also starred as Caio since the 4th season, produced and adapted by Moonshot’s d’Avila and original scripts by Jacqueline Vargas. Since its 3rd season, Moonshot has developed original characters and stories, revitalizing the franchise with a new therapist in its fourth season.

“Sessão de Terapia” is known for its unique and compelling storytelling, offering endless possibilities for introducing new characters and narratives. A prime example of its creative flexibility came in the fourth season, which featured Morena Baccarin (“Homeland,” “Deadpool”) in her first-ever Portuguese performance, playing a pivotal role as Caio’s supervisor. The following season continued this tradition by passing the supervisory role to Rodrigo Santoro (“300,” “Love Actually”), further enriching the show’s dynamic storytelling.

Additionally, Dori Media Group (DMG), the studio behind titles as “Losing Alice,” “Lalola,” “The New Black,” “Ciega a Citas” and “Dumb,” recently announced a slate of new unscripted offerings at MIPCOM. The company’s new unscripted offerings include dating shows “Spy Date” and “Love at Third Sight,” trivia-based game show “Smart Face,” talent competition “Da Next,” street game “Intuition,” reality competition “Stand-Up Warrior” and the shiny floor game show “The Best of All.”

Dori Media also announced earlier this year that it was selling the new Spanish-language episodes of “Lalola,” which debuted in February on ViX, as well as the series’ format rights to global territories outside of Latin America and the U.S. “Lalola,” which is produced by Dori Media International, is a modern-day remake of the hit International Emmy-nominated romantic comedy that originally aired in 2008-2009.
