"The Uniform"
DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation) has greenlit "The Uniform," a new six-part primetime crime drama series from Fremantle’s Nordic content powerhouse Miso Film starring Lena Maria Christensen and Jakob Cedergren which is set at the Police Academy in Copenhagen.
"The Uniform" follows the trainees and their instructors on their remarkable journey from civilian to officer, from classroom to the police station, where friendships, enmities and love along the way must stand the ultimate test when theory meets practice.
The premium serialized crime drama will commence principal photography in March with exceptional creative talents at the helm. Janus Metz ("Armadillo") will direct all six episodes of the series written by Oscar Giese ("2 Days") and Anders August ("Follow The Money"). "The Uniform" is produced by Sofie Bergstein, Jonas Allen and Peter Bose from Miso Film. The series is expected to premiere on DR in early 2026 and has already been sold to public broadcasters SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway, YLE in Finland and RUV in Iceland. Fremantle will handle global sales.
The series' main roles are played by Lena Maria Christensen ("Face To Face") and Jakob Cedergren ("Bullshit"). The cast also includes Marco Ilsø ("Bullshit"), Clara Rosager ("1899") Gustav Giese ("The Quiet Ones"), Soheil Bavi ("Darkland: The Return"), Simon Sears ("Those Who Kill") and Sarah Boberg ("1864").
DR's Head of Drama Henriette Marienlund, said: "When Miso Film presented an idea for a drama that takes place at the Police Academy, we immediately saw an exciting arena for a prime-time series. The Police Academy offers completely unique circumstances, where the police differ from all other education programs in the country, because at the utmost, trainees must be trained to put their bodies and minds in the line of fire to enforce the rules of the law. It is an exciting dilemma that we believe a broad audience will be interested in following."
Director Janus Metz, comments: “'the Uniform’ works with many of the same themes that I dealt with in 'armadillo', and I am looking forward to bringing a series about the formation of the Danish police to life. What is special about the series is that it takes place in a school. This way, we meet our characters during training. It is police work set in a coming-of-age setting that I have not seen treated before on Danish soil.”
Peter Bose, Miso Film Co-CEO, and Producer, added: “We are thrilled to produce 'the Uniform' for DR, who has a strong tradition of creating some of Denmark’s best prime time dramas. Anders August and Oscar Giese have written an engaging and relevant story, which will be wonderfully articulated under the direction of Janus Metz with his unique style and creative vision. Audiences can look forward to a truly special series that offers a different take on a police series, with exceptional talents both on and off screen.”
