International distributor Eccho Rights has licensed “The Inheritance” to BritBox in the U.S. and Canada, among a string of deals for the family thriller. A co-production from Night Train Media, Lonesome Pine Productions and Peer Pressure, for Channel 5 in the UK, “The Inheritance” became the broadcaster’s number one rated series throughout 2023.

The title has now been licensed to BritBox in the U.S. & Canada, RTE in Ireland, NPO in the Netherlands, and Pickbox in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Bulgaria.

“‘The Inheritance’ has a winning formula; blending high stakes thriller, whodunnit crime and relatable, emotional family drama, all played by an amazing cast – that mix makes a perfect title for the international market,” said Lucy Roberts, Director of Sales at Eccho Rights.

Starring Robert James Collier (“Downtown Abbey”), Gaynor Faye (“Coronation Street”) and Jemima Rooper (“The Girlfriend Experience”) alongside Larry Lamb (EastEnders), Kevin Whately (Inspector Lewis) and Samantha Bond (“Downtown Abbey”), “The Inheritance” (4 x 60’) is the story of three siblings, Daniel, Sian and Chloe, who are left reeling after the unexpected death of their father, Dennis. When it turns out they are not left anything in the will, they embark on a dangerous journey to figure out whether his death was truly a tragic accident, or whether it was in fact murder.
