EGEDA will open the call for applications this Sunday, June 1, for its program "PLATINO go to AFM", an initiative aimed at Ibero-American producers interested in learning about the workings of the U.S. audiovisual industry and establishing key connections in the North American market.

Designed to provide an in-depth understanding of Hollywood’s production and distribution dynamics, the program will support participants in the development and international promotion of their projects. Selected producers will gain access to the American Film Market (AFM)—taking place this year in Los Angeles from November 11 to 16—where they will participate in a three-day agenda tailored to maximize exposure and opportunity.

Ahead of the market, participants will receive online training to prepare for workshops, industry meetings, site visits, and discussions with top-tier professionals. The program also includes networking events with leading members of the American industry, where producers will be able to pitch their projects to buyers, investors, co-producers, and distributors.

Conducted in person and on a full-time basis, the program targets Ibero-American production companies holding full or partial rights to at least one fiction, documentary, or animation work. Applicants must submit a registration form including team details and experience, a registered project, a treatment, synopsis, preliminary budget, distribution and financing agreements, and a pitch video (maximum five minutes). A strong command of English is essential to fully benefit from the sessions, all of which are geared toward boosting the project’s global potential.

The program is limited to 24 participants, and selection will be based on the producer’s professional background, the technical and artistic quality of the project, budget feasibility, alignment with U.S. market expectations, and a confirmed financing level of over 50%. Preference will be given to commercially viable projects aimed at international audiences and supported by committed distributors.
