Electric Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based production, distribution, and post-production company, announces the signing of five licensing deals for its’ newest crime series, "Almost Paradise", in Spain, Africa, Ukraine, Latin America, and the Middle East.

The first U.S. TV program to be filmed entirely in the Philippines, "Almost Paradise" became a fan favorite when it aired domestically earlier this year.  Dean Devlin CEO of Electric Entertainment states, “The beauty of 'Almost Paradise' is that, like many of our other programs, it has universal appeal.  Audiences all over the world can relate to a flawed hero fighting crime, somewhat reluctantly during his 'retirement'. It’s quite rewarding for us to see these international territories picking up on the theme of the show.”

NBCUniversal International Networks will premiere "Almost Paradise" on Calle 13 in Spain, and Universal TV in Africa. The series will also air on 2+2 Channel in Ukraine. CDC will distribute the series in Latin America and Eagle Films in The Middle East. "Almost Paradise" premiered in the U.S. in March 2020 on WGN America.

Christian Kane ("The Librarians", "Leverage", "Angel") stars in "Almost Paradise" as Alex Walker, a former U.S. DEA agent who was forced into early retirement. Once the DEA’s most resourceful undercover operative, the combination of his partner’s betrayal and a life- threatening battle with hypertension has sent him as far from the madness as he can go... a small tropical island in the Philippine Archipelago. He now runs the gift shop at the island’s luxury resort hotel, gets his disability payments at the nearby US Air Force base, and generally manages his transition from Jason Bourne to Jimmy Buffett. But, the island’s luxury resorts attract rich, powerful, and sometimes criminal elite from around the world, often on a collision course with Alex. Despite his best efforts to begin a tranquil new life, he’s pulled back into a world of dangerous people and deadly situations, either through his friends in the local police department or running into people from his old life.
