Banijay announced the first version of the brand-new dating and relationship show "Save the Date." Originally created by Endemol Shine Israel, Finnish broadcaster Nelonen has commissioned the first international adaptation, ordering a prime-time series to be produced locally by Endemol Shine Finland. "As a collective, we are able to use our ideas and expertise to develop a brand-new generation of traveling hits, and we are passionate about fostering collaboration across Banijay’s footprint," James Townley, Global Head of Content Development, Banijay said. "Endemol Shine Israel has developed a quirky, unique and innovative concept, and Endemol Shine Finland has done a brilliant job to land the first commission, bringing the idea to life.”
Endemol Shine Finland, part of Banijay Nordic, produces a wide range of award-winning non-scripted and scripted content. Popular programs include "Big Brother," "MasterChef," "The Wall," "Gogglebox," "The Biggest Loser," "Ready Steady Cook," "Ex on The Beach," and "All Together Now". The company also recently announced its first scripted commission, Dance Brothers for Netflix and YLE. In this extraordinary social experiment, single women tired of the dating world gain total control of their love life by setting a wedding date, before they have even begun to search for their partner! Each woman has a short time to find their perfect match and plan the wedding. How they embark on the mission is up to them, whether endless speed dates or going out with multiple people at the same time.
“Save the Date is a fun and bold show that perfectly answers the demand we are seeing for new and exciting dating shows," Meira Noronen, Chief Operating Officer & Head of Non-Scripted, Endemol Shine Finland said. "We have built a strong reputation as one of the best non-scripted producers in the region, and we are delighted to add Save the Date to our burgeoning slate.”
