In the lead up to NATPE, Entertainment One (eOne) and Globo announced an exclusive SVOD licensing deal for the first-run rights in Brazil to eOne’s original dramas “Nurses,” “Burden of Truth” and “Mary Kills People”. The critically acclaimed dramas are set to launch on the streaming service Globoplay this summer.

The deal will make Globoplay the exclusive Brazilian streaming home to all episodes of seasons one and two of “Nurses,” as well as future seasons of the hit medical series, in addition to life-of-series for legal drama “Burden of Truth” and the provocative series “Mary Kills People”.

“As the market leader in Brazil, we’re delighted to be partnering with Globo to bring these successful, critically-acclaimed series to Brazilian audiences. We’re excited to expand our relationship with Globo, who have and continue to be a terrific partner, and look forward to more successes together,”  said Dan Loewy, Executive Vice President, Americas, International Distribution at eOne.

“Nurses” follows five young nurses working on the front lines of a busy downtown hospital, dedicating their lives to helping others while struggling to help themselves. Meanwhile, “Burden of Truth” follows Joanna Chang, a ruthless, big-city lawyer who returns to her small hometown in Millwood for a case that will change her life forever. Lastly, “Mary Kills People” follows Dr. Mary Harris, an overworked single mother and ER doctor, who lives a double life helping terminally ill patients with assisted deaths.
