Fremantle International announced the promotion of Rebecca Dundon to the role of Senior Vice President of Scripted Content, and welcomed Jill Kellie to the team in the newly created role of Director of Acquisitions of Scripted Content, reporting into Dundon, who will continue to oversee all scripted programming for Fremantle International and widens her remit to the development of new funding models plus the expansion of the company’s creative connections and producer reach.

The development of the team follows a projection of strong growth in global content production by Fremantle International’s CEO, Jens Richter. Recent investment successes include the critically acclaimed “The Responder,” Italian dystopian drama “Anna,” German coming of age series “We Children of Bahnhof Zoo,” Spanish-language mystery “La Jauría,” thriller “No Man’s Land,” and South African crime drama “Reyka,” plus the recently announced ground-breaking three-year partnership agreement with new production creative alliance The Creatives.

“Rebecca’s expertise in deal making and development has helped elevate our business to deliver a number of exceptional projects over the past few years and the addition of Jill to the team will ensure that we continue to deliver exceptional programming to the market,”  commented Jens Richter, CEO of Fremantle International.

“Following a slew of successful scripted investments and new partnerships in 2021, the creation of this role reflects Fremantle’s continued appetite and desire to expand our business and bring in additional expertise to help bolster our ever-growing drama pipeline. Jill has a wealth of experience across all genres, is an innovative deal maker and has a strong producer network, making her the perfect fit for this role and our ambitions in this space,”  Rebecca Dundon said.

“Fremantle’s ambitions in global drama are really exciting and I’m delighted to join the team, working with a wealth of talented production companies to help realize this,”  Kellie added.

Dundon has been with Fremantle for six years, previously holding the title of VP Scripted Content. She has also held positions at BBC Studios, Shine International and Shed Media Group. On the other hand, Kellie has previously worked as a Global Scripted Consultant for ITV Studios Global Distribution and Commercial Director, BBC Earth for BBC Studios.
