Fremantle announced it has licensed popular entertainment formats Project Runway and Family Feud to StarTV in Mongolia.“We are very excited to partner with StarTV on two brilliant formats that have entertained and delighted viewers across the globe," Haryaty Rahman, SVP Distribution Asia, International at Fremantle said. "'Family Feud is the perfect addition to StarTV’s shiny floor season whilst Project Runway provides a welcome dose of fashion expertise that we hope will inspire even more budding designers to come out of Mongolia in the future. We can’t wait to see these shows launch.”

It's the first time Project Runway Mongolia will air in the territory, making its debut on 2nd October 2022, while Family Feud Mongolia is slated for launch in early 2023. This will be the 6th Asian edition of Project Runway, having previously aired in Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea and Vietnam. Project Runway Mongolia aims to spark creativity and inspire a new generation of designers who can add their own take to a developing, modernizing fashion industry in the Central Asian country; while providing a platform for broad-based international exposure as part of the global Project Runway franchise.

Joining the first ever Project Runway Mongolia judging panel will be Mongolian fashion homegrown names in both haute couture and streetwear, such as Michel, of Olympic designer duo Michel&Amazonka; Zorig, founder of Premier Tailor; Niima, Co-Founder of youth streetwear brand 93//Kidult and Ovdogmid, founder of clothing brand OVDOG. Hosting duties will fall to Tserendolgor Battsengel, herself a leading Mongolian model, social media influencer, and winner of the very first season of Mongolia’s Next Top Model in 2017. Fashion designer and founder of LINE, Gankhuu Khuslen, will be mentoring the designer hopefuls competing to win a prize of 50 million tugriks; plus an all-inclusive travel package to one of the world’s fashion capitals (Paris, Milan, or Tokyo), as well as opportunities to take on apprenticeships under established designers and companies.

"Family Feud Mongolia" is currently in production. As one of television’s longest running, highest rated and most loved gameshows, Family Feud reveals that the simplest question can generate the most outrageous answers. Fremantle own the Family Feud format.“It is important to create content that is both entertaining yet informative for viewers, and in the case of Project Runway Mongolia, the vision is beyond just fashion entertainment," Badamkhand Batbold, CEO of StarTV & Executive Producer of Project Runway Mongolia said. "It is also championing the ideology of supporting small businesses, pushing forward Mongolian creative talent another step, and to spotlight Mongolia in a different modern light than only just our historic heritage.”
