Helium and Emu Creek Pictures will collaborate on the feature "The First Exorcist", written and directed by Greg McLean and produced by Mark Fennessy, it is announced. The director ("Wolf Creek", "Rogue", "The Belko Experiment", "Jungle"), is set to bring his style to this thriller.
A spellbinding fusion of religious and supernatural events set in Biblical times, "The First Exorcist" tells of a mother’s harrowing quest to save her daughter from demonic possession. As their lives descend into a nightmare, the mother learns of a mysterious healer with the power to expel demons, and embarks on a dangerous race against time – encountering hostile Roman authorities on her perilous mission to find the healer and save her daughter’s life.

The title will be produced in Victoria, Australia utilising cutting edge Virtual Production Technology to bring the epic ancient cities and locations of the story to life. Slated to commence production in 2025, casting is yet to be announced.
