Cineflix Rights has presold Helium’s ten-part Australian crime drama "Last King of The Cross" to Sky ahead of the show’s official launch at MIPCOM 2022.  The series will air exclusively in all Sky territories, in Italy, UK, Ireland and Germany.

“Last King of The Cross is a key launch for us at Mipcom so I’m thrilled to be closing this presale with Sky. Sky Atlantic will make the perfect home for the series," James Durie, Head of Scripted, Cineflix Rights said. "It’s a rags to riches crime story that is salacious and gripping, with an emotional family story at its heart and a strong ensemble cast led by Tim Roth and Lincoln Younes. With its setting in the crime-infested, but very sexy district of Kings Cross in 1980s/90s Sydney, this series really has standout appeal to international buyers.”

Helium Pictures Production produced "Last King of The Cross" for Paramount+ Australia with Cineflix Rights as the exclusive international distribution partner. Produced by Mark Fennessy and Karl Zwicky, and executive produced by Mark Fennessy and John Ibrahim, the elevated serialised drama is written by Kieran Darcy- Smith, Morgan O’Neill, Jane Allen, Alastair Newton Brown, Matt Nable, and James Pope, and directed by Kieran Darcy-Smith, Grant Brown, Catherine Millar, and Ian Watson.

Inspired by John Ibrahim’s best-selling autobiography charting his rise from a poverty-stricken immigrant with no education, no money, and no prospects to Australia’s most infamous nightclub mogul, the ten-part series tells an operatic story of two brothers who organize the street but lose each other in their ascent to power. Set in the decadant, iconic location of Sydney’s Kings Cross during the 1980s and 90s—a mini-Atlantic City, barely half a mile long and with every form of criminality on offer—the series stars Tim Roth (The Hateful Eight, Lie to Me, Sundown), Lincoln Younes (Grand Hotel, Tangle, Barons), Claude Jabbour (Eden, Stateless), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire, David Mackenzie’s Outlaw King), Tess Haubrich (Spiderhead, Alien: Covenant), Maria Tran (Truy Sat, Echo 8), and Matt Nable (Riddick, Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms).
