iQIYI and WildBrain have initiated a partnership to create and develop "Jonny Jetboy." “Previously, iQIYI and WildBrain mainly collaborated over content acquisition," Xiaoxuan Yang, iQIYI’s Vice President, stated. "As for Jonny Jetboy, it marks collaboration from creative stage for both parties. Together with first-class teams from both international and domestic, as well as WildBrain's strength in international distribution and licensing in global market, this is a key step for iQIYI in building an internationally recognized IP.”
The action kids' series credited by Keith Chapman, who is also credited with creating the popular titles, "Paw Patrol" and "Bob The Builder." The executive will work alongside IQiyi to produce this most recent project, in collaboration with Wildbrain. He will serve as supervisor while the Chinese Wingsing Animation Studio produces the animation. Michael Vogel will also serve as an Executive Producer, as well as Jinming Lu from WingSing Animation Studio. The 40-part series, targeted at children between the ages of 4 and 7, is set to begin production in 2023.
"Jonny Jetboy" marks the first global partnership for original China IP struck by WildBrain’s China team, based out of Shanghai. The project, which was initiated by iQIYI in concert with WildBrain China, brings together two of the kids’ entertainment industry’s leading players, leveraging their considerable mutual capabilities across production, distribution and consumer products.“I’m thrilled to be working with Mike and Jinming and the talented teams at iQIYI and WildBrain to build Jonny Jetboy into a global super-brand. It’s going to be an awesome ride," Keith Chapman said.
The show will follow Jonny Jones, the youngest member of the Jones family, who are secretly the “superteam” known as JetForce, committed to protecting their home, the high-tech city Calamity Canyon, from its many villains. “WinSing will be fully dedicated to the quality of production on Jonny Jetboy through innovative technologies and our deep experience in the animation industry," Jinming Lu expressed great confidence in Jonny Jetboy, said. "We are excited to be working on this series and look forward to delivering the highest quality animation to global audiences.”
