ITV announced a new entertainment format, "The Neighbourhood", which sees families and households compete in a street-sized reality game, battling it out for the chance to take home a life-changing cash prize. Hosted by Graham Norton, and coming next year to ITV1 and ITVX, this brand new 12-part series offers a gameshow that marries high-stakes competition, epic challenges and relatable domestic drama, to offer a different flavour of reality.

The format was developed by Lifted Entertainment’s development team led by Kat Hebden and Development Exec Ed Daggett, alongside the Garden's Director of Development Mike Philo. Lifted Entertainment and The Garden will co-produce. Both are part of ITV Studios. The title will see real-life households from all walks of life move in side by side, finding themselves not only neighbours but also fierce competitors in the ultimate reality showdown.

This is a game the households will live as well as play.  They’ll be with each other 24/7, sleeping and eating in their houses, socialising between them - and then voting each other out.  The challenges they face in public will change the dynamics behind closed doors.  And to win, they’ll need to defeat their neighbours, while still staying popular on the street.

Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime ITV referred to the seasonings of the show.: "The Neighbourhood' offers audiences the perfect blend of high-stakes competition and reality drama, with a very relatable cast. With the beloved Graham Norton at the helm, it’s going to make for an unmissable entertainment experience," commented.

Meanwhile, Richard Cowles, Managing Director at Lifted Entertainment and John Hay, CEO of The Garden praised the host: “In a TV landscape full of successful formats set in jungles, islands and luxurious villas, The Neighbourhood offers a fresh and different flavour: it’s a show all about the drama on our doorsteps.  This is a world we know and love from soaps and sitcoms, so we’re excited to make it the setting for a new type of competition reality show and there’s no better person to bring it to life than Graham." stated.
