Ferly, the Finnish animation, publishing, and licensing studio announces its new preschool show "Momolu and Friends!" (78x7minutes) has been acquired for broadcast in the UK by ITV for its channel ITVBe.

A co-production with Canada-based Yellow Animation, Belgium’s Digital Graphics, and Germany’s Atmosphere Media, the ITV deal marks the continued international expansion of the Momolu brand following its other recent commissions by TVOKids (Canada), Knowledge (Canada), YLE (Finland), and SRC (Société Radio Canada).

Set to air in Spring 2022, "Momolu and Friends" will appear on littlebe, a dedicated pre-school block between 09:00 and 12:00 on ITVBe for children aged 2-4 in the UK.

"Momolu and Friends" is a 2D animated series with a diverse cast of characters. It follows Momolu – a gentle, unassuming panda with a knack for stumbling into funny situations requiring his help. Each episode helps teach children how to problem-solve through art and design, manage challenges, and to work together to find solutions. The IP was originally created by design specialist and arts educator Leena Fredriksson.

Laura Nevanlinna, CEO of Ferly says “The Momolu brand is designed to help young children navigate a world that is becoming more complicated, but in a way that is fun, exciting, and allows their imaginations to take them to wonderful worlds. We’re looking forward to bringing the universe of Momolu and all of its charming stories and characters into the UK. This deal with ITV allows us to continue encouraging children and families to get creative and help raise well-rounded, happy people.”

Darren Nartey, Acquisitions Manager, Films & Kids at ITV says, ‘”We are absolutely delighted to be bringing 'Momolu & Friends' to littlebe. It is an exciting and engaging series that will prove popular with our pre-school audience.”
