Keshet International has announced it will launch pre-sales for "Secret Royal Homes", a new access-all-areas factual series hosted and narrated by Hugh Bonneville, at Mipcom 2025. Produced by Welsh company Yeti TV, the 3x60’ docuseries delves into stately British homes steeped in royal intrigue, most of which have never before been explored on screen. The series originated through KI’s Greenlight: Factual and Formats commissioning initiative and marks a significant new addition to its growing international factual portfolio.
Kelly Wright, Managing Director of Distribution at Keshet International, said: “With his trademark charm and credibility, Hugh Bonneville is the perfect guide to front this beautifully crafted, access-led series from Yeti TV. What sets 'Secret Royal Homes' apart is the calibre of locations and stories unearthed — properties that have rarely, if ever, been explored on screen, each steeped in royal intrigue. This is the kind of premium, globally appealing factual content buyers are looking for right now: a fresh lens on the British monarchy, rich in untold history, stunning visuals, and irresistible storytelling. As KI continues to grow its factual co-production slate, this series exemplifies the kind of bold, distinctive projects we’re proud to bring to the international market.”
Siân Price, Creative Director at Yeti TV, added: “We are delighted to be working with Keshet International to bring this rich series to market. It promises to have all Yeti's hallmarks of fascinating factual take-out, stunning photography, privileged access and a new window on the history of the royals.”
"Secret Royal Homes" leads a slate of four titles identified via the Greenlight initiative, which also includes "Hitler’s Favourite Royals" (3x60’) from Caledonia TV, "Subterranean Secrets" (10x60’) from Hello Mary, and "Earthbound" (3x60’) by Ritual Arts and Amazing Owl, narrated by Orlando Bloom. These series collectively demonstrate KI’s commitment to backing premium factual content with global appeal and high production value.
"Secret Royal Homes" offers viewers exclusive access to hidden or lesser-known British estates with royal connections. Unlike the royal residences widely documented, these properties range from grand mansions with deep historical ties to the monarchy to secluded getaways where royals found privacy away from the public eye. The three-part series features themed episodes, each spotlighting multiple homes and their custodians, who guide audiences through royal tales of grandeur, scandal, love, and historic transformation. Some locations hosted lavish royal parties; others were havens for secret romances or the setting for pivotal political moments.
Since launching its Greenlight initiative, Keshet International has already greenlit two straight-to-series factual titles for global distribution: "Hitler’s Treasure Hunters", a 6x60’ historical docuseries by Perpetual Entertainment tied to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, and "Catch Me If You Can", a 10x60’ true crime docuseries from Woodcut Media focusing on killers who evaded justice. Notably, "Hitler’s Treasure Hunters" has already been licensed in more than 70 territories since its MIPCOM 2024 debut, highlighting strong market demand for KI's curated factual slate.
By combining high-profile talent, compelling themes, and strategic partnerships, Keshet International is positioning its new factual line-up — led by "Secret Royal Homes" — as a must-watch offering for global buyers at this year’s MIPCOM.
