“Zenith”
Canada’s KO Distribution has completed a deal with French mega-group Mediawan Prod, who have taken the option rights for all European French-speaking territories for its brand-new competitive singing competition “Zenith” which launches on ICI Radio-Canada on the 19th of January.
“Zenith” is KOTV’s original-concept variety music series. Designed with glamour in mind, the production gathers well known singers from different generations to compete against each other on a large, arena-style stage in a weekly singing competition in front of an audience made up of 100 judges who are also grouped by generation: Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, and Gen Z. Over 13 weeks, 24 artist-singers, 6 per generation, will revisit popular hits from yesterday and today in show-stopping large-scale performances.
Hosted by popular French-Canadian TV and radio personality, Veronique Cloutier, a diverse group of artists take-on the challenge of presenting their extraordinary musical talents with the aim of winning over the audience.
“We are excited to see this special series find its way to French-speaking audiences, in Europe,” Mia Desroches Vice-President, Global Distribution, KO Distribution. “Audiences are thirsty for a festive music competition with an added touch of great artists with a little nostalgia. 'Zenith' is a series that brings a combination of all of these to viewers, designed to capture all generations, young and old. We are excited to be working with Mediawan Prod and so grateful they see the potential that this high-quality production has to offer. We are so anxious to see it expand even further –audiences everywhere are going to love it.”
