Konami Cross Media NY has announced two major licensing agreements expanding the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand into both the specialty beverage and quick service restaurant (QSR) industries. The first deal is with Y.H.B. Biotech’s Ocean Bomb brand to launch Yu-Gi-Oh!-themed sparkling waters. The second is a promotional collaboration with fast-food franchise Pollo Campero. The beverage line will roll out across North and South America, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, while the Pollo Campero promotion will debut in Central American markets including Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Ecuador.
The Ocean Bomb sparkling water line, set to launch in Q2 2025, will feature fruity, caffeine-free flavors packaged with iconic Yu-Gi-Oh! characters. Jennifer Coleman, Vice President of Licensing and Marketing at Konami Cross Media NY expressed enthusiasm for the licensing deal: "Just when Yu-Gi-Oh! fans think they’ve seen it all, we’re excited to open our phenomenal anime property to the specialty beverage product category for the first time,” noted.
Meanwhile, the QSR deal with Pollo Campero introduces a collectible toy promotion that will be included in kids’ meals—called “Loncheritas”—starting in July. Also, a representative from Ping Solutions, the marketing agency developing the promotion, noted: “This collaboration blends beloved anime with a beloved food brand in a way that will create excitement and engagement for fans and families alike across the region," commented.
These partnerships reflect Konami’s broader strategy of expanding the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand into new lifestyle categories and geographic markets.
