Netherlands-based LATIN QUARTER, led by Spanish-Peruvian industry veteran Juan G. Castro, has acquired the Mexican feature "El Aguila y El Gusano," premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. The film offers a hilarious satire that turns the tragedy of our times into a source of diabolic entertainment and dark humour. Additionally, LATIN QUARTER's previous co-production, "What The Soil Remembers", received top honours at the same festival last year, further solidifying the company's reputation for delivering compelling and award-winning content.

In addition to its strengths in theatrical distribution and film publicity, having presented across Europe Locarno’s “Autoerotica”, Tallinn’s “Tiempos Futuros” or box office hit “Muerto De Risa”, LATIN QUARTER has successfully promoted and sold select films to audiences worldwide. Currently, among many other films, LATIN QUARTER is actively promoting the biopic about the beloved Amazonian cumbia band Los Mirlos, "La Danza De Los Mirlos," which premiered at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival and screened in Munich last November.

Looking ahead, LATIN QUARTER unveils a new co-production partnership with the Peruvian Amazonian film "The Last Flight of Pishak" at Rotterdam’s Cinemart. This captivating Amazonian tale, revolving around oil exploitation and a coming-of-age story, is set against the backdrop of the lush Peruvian landscape. Inspired by the impassioned pitch from producer Eduardo Tello during his participation in the Rotterdam Lab, "LATIN QUARTER eagerly anticipates bringing this captivating story to audiences worldwide, marking yet another significant milestone in its dedication to nurturing diverse and impactful cinema," said Castro.

LATIN QUARTER emerges as the forefront film company in Northern Europe dedicated to championing independent Latin American cinema. Specializing in theatrical distribution, film publicity, world sales, and co-production, the company is committed to showcasing the most impactful, visually stunning, and thought-provoking films from and for Latin America, Spain, and the global Latinx diaspora.
