Love Nature, a wildlife and nature brand with linear and streaming channels available internationally, announced two new original programmes. The titles exemplify Love Nature’s diverse range of content, from blue-chip specials to high-stakes wildlife rescues. The slate includes: “HumanLike: The Chimps of Fongoli” (1 x 60’), a thrilling look at how a group of chimpanzees have adapted to survive in an extreme environment, and “Aussie Snake Wranglers: Deadly Pursuit” Season 1 (6 x 30’), an adrenaline-fuelled series that follows a group of professional snake catchers on the Sunshine Coast of Australia.

“Love Nature viewers enjoy a wide range of natural history series. Over the last decade, we have built a portfolio of wildlife series that appeals to our global audience. These two new titles add to our channel’s diversity of offerings,” says Alison Barrat, SVP, Head of Content, Love Nature. “Each of these new titles explores the connection between human and animal species. They both tap into a different aspect of our global fascination with wild species.”

The newly greenlit titles will premiere on Love Nature worldwide. They will also roll out on Sky Nature in the UK, Italy, and Germany, with additional premieres across co-commissioning territories. Blue Ant Studios oversees licensing opportunities for these new titles outside of commissioning territories.

“HumanLike: The Chimps of Fongoli” is a one-hour special produced by Passion Planet in co-production with The WNET Group. The film follows a group of elusive chimpanzees living on the edge of what’s biologically possible, shedding new light on our closest living relatives and our own evolutionary origins. In Senegal’s Fongoli region—on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert—chimps live in the hottest, driest environment where chimpanzees have ever been recorded. This documentary traces the remarkable 25-year story of how American primatologist Jill Preutz and local chimp expert Dondo “Johnny” Kante earned the trust of these animals and uncovered unique behaviors that may reveal crucial insights about our shared past.

“Aussie Snake Wranglers: Deadly Pursuit” Season 1 is produced by Breakout Productions with support from the South Australian Film Corporation. This fast-paced reality series follows Australia’s busiest team of snake catchers as they go head-to-head with some of the planet’s most venomous reptiles. Set against the backdrop of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, the team, led by venomous snake expert Stuart McKenzie, responds to multiple emergency calls each day, removing dangerous snakes—including coastal taipans, red-bellied black snakes, eastern browns, and death adders—from homes and businesses. The series captures high-stakes encounters and real human drama as ordinary Australians find themselves face-to-face with deadly intruders.
