Paris-based company Mediatoon has secured worldwide rights for the much-awaited upcoming sequel of the anime series “Edens Zero” (25x24') by Hiro Mashima, the same creator of the globally cherished anime “Fairy Tail.” Commissioned by NTV and produced by JC Staff, season two of “Edens Zero” will be accompanied by an exclusive digest episode of season one.

In the story, travelling through Sakura Cosmos, Shiki and his friends face numerous challenges when seeking to meet Mother, an entity who grants any wish for those who are brave enough to find her. The series targets a young adult audience and tackles relevant subjects in modern society, such as the endangerment of the environment, our dependence on technology, and the relationship between humans and robots.

“We are glad to strengthen our long-lasting partnership with Kodansha. The acquisition of ‘Edens Zero's’ worldwide rights cements Mediatoon’s position as one of the world’s leading distributors and IP managers for star kids and anime shows. ‘Edens Zero' will be joining Mediatoon’s catalogue of leading Anime IP’s such as ‘Naruto,’ ‘Hunter x Hunter’ and ‘Fairy Tail,’”  commented Jérôme Alby, CEO of Mediatoon Distribution.

“Edens Zero’s” second season premiered on NTV in Japan on April 2, and was simulcasted on ADN (Animation Digital Network), the Paris-based SVOD platform. The show is one of the highlights of Mediatoon’s catalogue, which will be presented by the company’s team at the upcoming MIPTV.
