NBCUNIVERSAL PROMOTES JANINE JONES-CLARK TO EVP OF INCLUSION

Jones-Clark's new role will consist of developing NBCU's content portfolio. She will still oversee all diversity aspects of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group.

NBCUniversal has promoted diversity exec Janine Jones-Clark to EVP of inclusion for both talent and content, across film, television, and streaming. “We’ve admired the initiatives that Janine has cultivated with Donna at UFEG and are excited to bring her expertise to the entire NBCUniversal Entertainment portfolio,”  UFEG Chairman Donna Langley and NBCUniversal Television and Streaming Chairman Mark Lazarus said jointly in a statement.

In her new role, Jones-Clark will work across NBCU's content portfolio to help develop programs that promote inclusion both infront and behind the scenes. She will retain oversight of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG)’s diversity, inclusion, and equity strategies, and will add NBCUniversal’s entertainment, streaming, and television studio teams.“As a direct result of Janine’s leadership, we have more inclusive voices in our industry who are leading the way," Langley and Lazarus stated. "I am thrilled that she will be uniting the content portfolios, continuing to drive progress, and develop a strategy for systemic change that benefits our organization and the broader media landscape.”

She will also continue to fulfill her role as head of diversity, inclusion, and equity strategies for Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, which she joined in 2017. Jones-Clark will continue to report to Langley, Lazarus, and Universal Studio Group Chairman Pearlena Igbokwe. “We are committed to supporting the next generation of changemakers and storytellers, ensuring diversity in our workforce and on our productions, and providing access to our industry through mentorship and training programs," Langley and Lazarus said. "With Janine’s expertise and a collaborative strategy across our businesses, we can further impact our culture in a positive and meaningful way."

Before joining Universal, Jones-Clark worked in PR, programming, and development at FOX, NBC, and The WB. She later contributed to diversity at Disney|ABC Television, where she redesigned and led creative talent development programs to increase opportunities for diverse writers and episodic directors.
