Kelly Campbell is exiting her role as president of Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming platform, after three years. Her departure comes just six weeks after Comcast, NBCUniversal’s parent company, announced a major restructuring of its cable networks and operations.
Under the new structure, NBCUniversal Studio Group chair and chief content officer Donna Langley has been promoted to chair of NBCU Entertainment and Studios, granting her expanded authority over production approvals and content spending. Matt Strauss, chair of NBCU Media Group, who had been Campbell’s direct superior, will assume many of the responsibilities previously held by Mark Lazarus. This includes oversight of direct-to-consumer services like Peacock, as well as international operations, sports, ad sales, and distribution.
Campbell joined Peacock in 2021 after a four-year tenure at Hulu, where she served as marketing chief and later as president. Prior to her time at Hulu, she held positions at Google and JP Morgan Chase.
The restructuring, announced in November 2024, involves Comcast spinning off NBCUniversal’s cable networks—including USA, Syfy, Oxygen, MSNBC, and E!—into a newly formed division. However, Bravo, known for its “Real Housewives” franchise, will remain part of Comcast’s core business alongside NBC’s broadcast network and Peacock.
