NENT Studios UK announced that it has started to roll out the new Norwegian episodic police procedural series, ‘For Life’ after finishing its first pre-sales. The agreements were secured with SBS in Australia, Pro Plus in Slovenia, and Canal, Plus in France. ‘For Life’ will air on the broadcaster’s Polar+ detective series 5channel. “We are delighted to bring something new to the international market and to have locked-in these initial pre-sales with SBS, Pro Plus and Canal Plus,” Elin Thomas, EVP sales for NENT Studios UK said. “With episodes now delivering, the series is starting to gain further traction from buyers excited by a refreshing approach to the popular episodic crime universe.”
The eight 60-minute episodes are produced by Monster, a NENT Studios company, for NRK. It was created and written by Gjermund S. Eriksen and co-written by Helena Nielsen. The Norwegian Film Institute also invested in the series.
"For Life" follows the story of Victoria Woll, a National Crime Service investigator, both in the present, where she solves cases and arrests criminals, and in the future, where she's behind bars herself. “With its intriguing premise, lightness of touch and sharp, topical storylines, ‘For Life’ is a distinctive, new style of police procedural, far removed from the dark crime series associated with the traditional Nordic Noir genre,” Thomas said.
"For Life" is Norway’s first police procedural, showing various storylines in each episode, which features a present-day, exciting standalone case as its main story, along with new pieces to the continuing puzzle regarding Victoria’s journey. In addition to "For Life" NENT Studios UK has also licensed Swedish political thriller "The Inner Circle" to SBS. The series is also a NENT Group original production.
