NIPPON TV PROMOTES TWO EXECUTIVES FOR A NEW GLOBAL GROWTH PLAN

Keiichi Sawa will oversee the expanded division, while Mikiko Nishiyama will take on the International Business Division's day-to-day operations.

Nippon Television Network Corporation (Nippon TV) announced the promotion of two executives, Keiichi Sawa and Mikiko Nishiyama, to oversee a new comprehensive global growth plan created by the International Business Division, which consists of strategic creative collaborations with international partners as an investment in future business and a way to expand its slate of brands. The promotions are effective immediately for both Tokyo-based experts.

The announcement was made today by Hiroyuki Fukuda, Board Director and Operating Officer responsible for Nippon TV’s programming, production, sports, and business development. “Nippon TV is currently at the top of its game as the rating champion broadcaster for six consecutive years and our digital strategy is accelerating with Hulu in Japan becoming the leading streaming platform,” Sawa said. “Now, the timing is perfect for the expansion of our international business and I am honored to be leading this amazing IBD team.” 

As Operating Officer of Nippon TV, Sawa will receive oversight of the expanded divison. He will retain his current title of President of Business Development for Nippon TV. He will be responsible for the overall operations of IBD and will report to Mr. Fukuda. Mr. Sawa replaces Mr. Atsushi Sogo, who will become President of NTV Personnel Center Corp., a group company of Nippon TV. “My predecessors have done a remarkable job initially creating and ultimately growing Nippon TV’s international business thanks to our partners in the global content industry,” Sawa said.

Nishiyama, Associate Managing Director of IBD was promoted to Managing Director of IBD and will report to Sawa. She will be responsible for IBD's day-to-day operations. According to Sawa, some of the top award-winning scripted formats in the slate include, garnering high ratings and popularity around the globe.
