Off The Fence (OTF), the Academy Award-winning independent producer and distributor, has closed a volume deal with Prime Video Germany for its streaming service in a deal brokered by OTF sales executive Klara van Doorn. The package, which spans nature, wildlife, lifestyle, and crime titles, includes two feature documentaries that will be territory premieres: the multiple award-winning films "Silverback" and "We Are Guardians."

Acclaimed conservation documentary "Silverback," which follows wildlife cameraman Vianet Djenguet on a mission to protect the Democratic Republic of Congo’s critically endangered eastern lowland gorillas, has recently added an Outstanding Nature Documentary Emmy nomination to its rollcall of honors.

The 90-minute film, produced by otf studios, the BBC, France Télévisions, and Featuristic Film, has scooped a string of awards since it premiered on the BBC in 2023, including Best Science and Natural History Documentary at the Grierson Awards, and a trio of Jackson Wild Media Awards: The Grand Teton Award; the People & Nature, Long Form Award; and the On-Screen Personality Award for Vianet Djenguet. And the accolades keep coming: "Silverback" has already bagged nominations this year for the Banff World Media Festival’s Rockie Awards and the RTS Programme Awards.

Meanwhile, "We Are Guardians," produced by Mídia Indígena, One Forest, Highly Flammable, Random Good, and Appian Way, addresses arguably our planet’s most urgent environmental crisis — the destruction of the Amazon rainforest — through the lens of Brazil’s indigenous forest guardians, who are fighting valiantly to protect their ancestral lands from deforestation. Five years in the making, the 90-minute documentary has won several prestigious awards since it launched in 2024 on Netflix Latin America, including the Cinema for Peace Green Film Award, the Jackson Wild Impact Award, the Best Documentary Award at Raindance Film Festival, and the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Mostra São Paulo International Film Festival.

Oliver Taprogge, OTF’s head of sales and strategic partnerships, highlighted the storytelling and the power of the documentaries: "We’re proud to be collaborating with Prime Video for the German premieres of 'We Are Guardians' and 'Silverback.' Amazon’s commitment to bold, high-quality storytelling, and its ability to connect audiences at scale, makes it the ideal home for two award-winning titles that spark both emotion and conversation," commented.

Among the titles included in the package are "The Secrets to Civilization" (3 x 60 mins), which looks at next-generation science and planet data that are changing our understanding of the ancient past; true-crime special "Forging Fate: The Disappearing Art Dealer" (1 x 60 mins); "Go Gently With Bonnie Wright" (6 x 60 mins), which accompanies the Harry Potter actress and environmental activist on a spirited road trip along the US West Coast; and two series of "Ocean Wonders" (16 x 30 mins), fronted by heavy-metal marine biologist Tom 'the Blowfish' Hird.
