OneGate Media appoints Johannes Plenk as new Director of Acquisitions and Co-Production

OneGate Media is repositioning its acquisition and co-production departments as of 1 December 2023, with the appointment of Johannes Plenk. Plenk joins from Sky Deutschland, where he served as Director of Entertainment Channels. He brings a wealth of experience in the TV and film industry from various positions at Bavaria Film, CNN, and Universal Studios.

His role at OneGate Media will include strategically planning and implementing program acquisition. Plenk will be responsible for acquiring films and series from German producers, distributors, and international partners. He will continue to expand the company's contacts with program suppliers from the German producer and public broadcasting landscape. Plenk, educated in Verona and Stirling, Scotland, among other places, has broad media experience and is also highly experienced in the German and international production scene. Most recently, he played a significant role in the success of various non-scripted productions at Sky Deutschland. Before this, he was responsible for Sky Krimi and Sky 1 channels for over seven years.
