OneGate Media to globally represent drama series "Generation Now: Today for Tomorrow"

The Premium title from VIAFILM GmbH & Co. KG explores varied perspectives on environmental activism and intergenerational conflict.

OneGate Media has secured world distribution rights for the progressive drama series, "Generation Now: Today for Tomorrow" (6x45’) from VIAFILM GmbH & Co. KG. Bolstering OneGate Media’s growing and diverse premium scripted slate, the series features a stellar cast, including Franziska Weisz ("The Swarm") is produced by VIAFILM GmbH & Co. KG, for MDR, ARD Degeto and NDR. The series is funded by FFF-Bayern and nordmedia.

Created by Christian Schiller, Marianne Wendt, ("Neumatt") and directed by Charlotte Rolfes ("Tatort"), this six-part drama takes a modern stance on environmentalism and the ongoing conflict between different generations. Set in the city of Halle in 2023, tensions rise as activist groups and police clash on the market square, escalating to rioting, looting and violence.



The lives of teenagers Jana and Vanessa are forever changed when they find themselves at the centre of this political uproar. Grappling with their own family relationships and worldviews, as well as their determination to fight for a better world, the groups must decide how far they’re willing to go for their own future and what kind of world they want to live in.
