Yuri Kolokolnikov
Sales House is presenting their upcoming large-scale project “The Lefty” (100 min), starring Yuri Kolokolnikov ("The Last Ronin") and directed Vladimir Besedin, author of the popular Russian superhero film series, based on the comics "Major Grom."
The adventure action movie is a free adaptation of the famous story of Nikolai Leskov about a Russian craftsman who shod a miniature flea. The project is expected to release next January 2026.
Set in St. Petersburg in 1885, during a time of rising tensions between the Russian Empire and Great Britain, a mysterious mechanical flea is discovered in the palace of Emperor Alexander III. It’s a sign: a British spy, armed with cutting-edge engineering, is operating in the capital.
Secret police officer Ogarev teams up with Lefty, a genius — if slightly eccentric — inventor from the imperial arms factory. Together, they must stop the spy and protect the Empire from threats within and beyond.
