Silverlining Rights appoints Lulu Prutton to Sales and Acquisitions Director role

Silverlining Rights confirmed plans to continue building on recent growth with the appointment of Lulu Prutton as Sales and Acquisitions Director, covering the USA, UK, Canada, Benelux, Central and Eastern Europe, CIS and Inflight buyers. “I am delighted to be joining SilverLining Rights at a time when they are supercharging their growth strategy,"  Prutton said. "I am very excited to be working with the hugely experienced team and I look forward to helping expand the slate with more high-quality titles as well as working across co-production and pre-sales opportunities.”

Silverlining is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and a trunover increase of 30 percent year-on-year and with more than1500 hours of content from many of the UK’s best producers including: "Brinkworth," "Yeti," "Knickerbockerglory," "Blink," "72 Films," "Spun Gold," "Voltage TV," "Content Kings," "Emporium," "MSP," "Ten 66," "Curve," and "Hidden Light."  In addition, Silverlining generates its own content in partnership with producers and international broadcasters.   Recent acquisitions include "Highclere: Behind the Scenes" (Brinkworth Television), "Murder in The Family" (Knickerbockerglory TV), "Secret World of Snacks" (72 Films), "Murder on the Doorstep: Who Killed Alistair Wilson?" (True North TV), "The World’s Most Luxurious Island" (Spun Gold TV), "Cause of Death" (Candour Productions), and "Sandi Toksvig’s Tiny Christmas Challenge" (Yeti Television).  The company is targeting continued rapid growth in 2023.

Under her new role, Lulu will work alongside Silverling Rights MD, Bethan Corney  and with Global Content Sales Executive, Samantha Sintes to source finished programming and coproduction projects. She joins the company’s ten-person team, which is based in locations in the UK, Latin America, Italy, Spain, the Middle East and Asia.  “We are looking to turbocharge Silverlining in 2023, as we see huge opportunities for an independent, flexible boutique co-financer and distributor in a rapidly consolidating sector,"  Corney said. "Having worked closely together with Lulu both at both Channel 5 and Tigress, I know she’s the perfect fit for Silverlining to help us deliver our growth strategy.”

Lulu joins Silverlining from her previous role as Senior Sales and Acquisitions Manager at Drive Media Rights, where she was responsible for sales across Asia, Benelux, Canada, CEE, Inflight and then MENA as part of Blue Ant International, and secured projects for international distribution such as "Who Murdered Meredith Kercher," "Lost Home Movies of Nazi Germany" and "Zara McDermott: Revenge Porn." Prior to Drive, Lulu was at Channel 5 where she acquired titles including "Meerkat Manor," "Big, Bigger, Biggest" and "Bermuda Triangle." She previously worked with Silverlining Rights founder Bethan Corney, at Tigress Productions, across series such as Hippo: Life After Death, Alone in the Wild with Freddie Flintoff and Nature Shock.
