SPI International, a global media company, expands its distribution arm bringing “Arcadian” to new territories. After a Hungarian premiere in May, the Nicolas Cage-starring movie will debut in Netherlands and Israel. The movie will premiere first in Israel on July 4th following the massive success of “Beekeeper” (with Jason Statham) and “Bandit” (starring Josh Duhamel and Mel Gibson), which continues SPI International’s strong year at the box office, as a result of cooperation with its local partner Red Cape.
“Arcadian” will then premiere in Netherlands reaching local theatres on August 28th, thanks to SPI’s cooperation with local partner Just Entertainment. In addition to Hungary, Netherlands and Israel, SPI International has also secured rights for “Arcadian” in Dutch speaking part of Belgium (Vlaanderen), for which theatrical release will be revealed soon.
Hubert Ornass-Kubacki, Head of Content Sales at SPI International talked about the company's expansive strategy: “After its Hungarian release, we are delighted to bring the adrenaline-boosting ‘Arcadian’ to new territories. Along with Red Cape, our long-standing partner, we continue bringing great entertainment to local audiences in Israel. As one of the leaders in worldwide content distribution, we are really pleased to connect audiences through shared entertainment. This summer Arcadian will also bring excitement to audiences in the Netherlands. Together with our local distribution partner Just Entertainment, we will provide a great experience for thrill seekers," commented.
"Arcadian”, directed by Benjamin Brewer, is an action horror-movie starring Nicolas Cage as the father of two teenage boys, all trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Paul (Nicolas Cage) and his two sons, Thomas and Joseph, have been living a half-life – tranquility by day and torment by night. When the sun sets, ferocious creatures of the night awaken and consume all living souls in their path. One day, Thomas doesn't return home on time from a visit to his crush, the nearby farm girl, Charlotte. Paul chooses to leave the safety of their fortified farm, risking his life, to find Thomas before the creatures arrive. Just as he finds his boy, a nightmarish battle ensues, and Paul is seriously wounded. Now the twins devise a desperate plan for surviving the coming night. Thomas and Joseph together use their courage, ingenuity, and everything their father has taught them to keep him alive.
