SPI International and FilmBox's Dizi premium brand will now be accessible on Portugal's consumer communications brand, MEO through a distribution agreement sealed between the two companies.“We are delighted to bring the mesmerizing world of Dizi to more Western European audiences through this agreement with our long-standing partners MEO in Portugal,” said Georgina Twiss, MD Western Europe, and Africa at SPI International.
The agreement will allow Dizi content to be offered both via a linear channel and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) through the operator’s distribution networks in the basic package. Timeless Dizi Channel will be available to MEO subscribers on channel 77 with Portuguese subtitles and the viewers will be able to access the renowned Dizi series on-demand through MEO’s SVOD offer “MEO Filmes e Séries” at position 80. “Our Dizi brand is extremely well received across the globe and we are looking forward to witnessing Dizi’s Portuguese fan base grow as they tune into these engaging series,” Twiss said.
MEO already carries the gaming and esports channel “Gametoon” from SPI/FilmBox’s extensive portfolio. “The launch of Dizi Channel differentiates and diversifies MEO's offer, allowing access, on the one hand, to content aimed at international fiction lovers and, on the other hand, too specific styles, such as series," Consumer Products and Services Director at Altice Portugal Tiago Silva Lopes, said.
Established in April 2019, Dizi reaches millions of households worldwide, available in 50 countries, with additional regions to be added in the near future. Current locations include Western European countries like Luxembourg and Switzerland. With an award-winning slate of globally acclaimed Turkish drama series, the channel highlights include: “Karadayi,” “Kurt Seyit & Shura,” “Black Money Love” and “Wings of Love.”
