STUDIOCANAL announced the promotion of Aska Yamaguchi to Senior Vice President, Worldwide TV Production Financing and US Film Sales. Based in Paris, she reports to Anne Chérel, Chief Commercial Officer.

In this newly created role, Yamaguchi will spearhead financing strategies to support STUDIOCANAL’s global TV expansion and continue to oversee US film sales alongside Chloé Marquet. She will develop partnerships with major broadcasters and platforms, focusing on the company’s new English-language TV productions while also supporting financing for ambitious local-language projects.

A Los Angeles native, Yamaguchi joined STUDIOCANAL in 2015 and has been pivotal in structuring and selling acclaimed films such as “Paddington” and “We Live in Time”, which premiered at major international festivals.

Anne Chérel praised the exec:Aska’s promotion marks a key step in STUDIOCANAL’s global growth. Her expertise, creativity, and leadership will be central to expanding our co-production ambitions," noted.

Meanwhile, Aska Yamaguchi embraced the opportunity: “I’m excited to take on this role as STUDIOCANAL continues to champion visionary filmmakers and globally minded stories," noted.

STUDIOCANAL’s international TV slate includes “Army of Shadows” (Channel 4/CANAL+), the upcoming thriller “Hit Point” (UKTV), and “Apollo Has Fallen”, the second installment in the global “Has Fallen” franchise. On the film side, the studio is in post-production on “Pressure” from director Anthony Maras, starring Brendan Fraser and Andrew Scott, and on “Huntington” (working title), starring Glen Powell — both slated for worldwide release in 2026. Developed and produced by STUDIOCANAL, “Pressure” will be released in the US via Focus, and “Huntington” via A24.
