Swedish production services company, Swixer has promoted Helen Spokojny to Head of Production. She has extensive experience producing TV across a range of genres, including documentary and reality formats, and news content. Spokojny also brings her knowledge of commercial, corporate and advertising media production to the role.

Fatima Lagerås, CEO and Founder of Swixer says “Helen is the perfect fit for this position and is integral for the growth of Swixer. We are lucky to have her now as Head of Production, not only for her skills as a producer, but her ability to lead and motivate a team, along with her existing knowledge of the company and business mindset. Her new role with us is also a significant step, as the industry can often be an intimidating place for an expecting mother. We work in a male-dominated industry, so it’s even more important for us to continue to elevate talented women and ensure they receive the opportunities they are deserving of.”

Helen Spokojny, Head of Production at Swixer says “I’m excited to take on this new role at Swixer, which allows me to work even closer with the brilliant team and support CEO Fatima, as we continue to develop the business. When Fatima and I discussed my future at Swixer, I was impressed with Swixer’s ethos and confidence in my ability. Fatima ensured me that my pregnancy is merely an organizational factor, something that again displayed the forward thinking business culture she cultivates at Swixer.”

Spokojny’s appointment is integral to Swixer’s growing team, and marks a significant time for the Nordic company as it expands its drama series, film and commercial output. Swixer boasts a strong portfolio in TV and film, with credits on major productions including BBC drama series "Normal People", Netflix architecture series "Abstract: The Art of Design" and Prince William's documentary "Earthshot", with more major drama and commercial productions in the pipeline.

Swixer has expanded rapidly and currently has productions running in Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Germany, Poland, France and the Netherlands. The company also has several extensive pitches for major international television productions in the pipeline.

The Swedish government's new decision to increase support for the production of audiovisual works, as well as the tax credits for Swedish film production decision last year, opens up opportunities for increased demand internationally, which Swixer is ideally placed to help companies take advantage of.
