Daniel Alegre, TelevisaUnivision’s CEO, announced organizational changes aimed at consolidating its leadership in the entertainment and media industry, with a vision toward 2025 and beyond. The new organizational structure seeks to reinforce four key priorities: integration and collaboration, a focus on content, solutions-based selling, and revitalizing corporate culture.

One of the most notable aspects of this restructuring is the departure of Jesús Lara, U.S. Local Leader, after eight years with the company. His departure marks a significant shift, as the company will centralize its advertising sales under the leadership of Donna Speciale. This new structure will encompass all advertising platforms—local and national, linear, digital, and streaming—offering a single, solutions-oriented entry point for its U.S. advertising partners.

Additionally, Ignacio Meyer will take on new responsibilities by overseeing both audio and local programming in the U.S., in addition to leading linear programming. Meyer and Speciale will coordinate the details of this reorganization with their respective teams to ensure a smooth transition aligned with strategic goals.

In the content sphere, José Luis Fabila will lead the newly created Global Content Organization. His mission will be to ensure that content investments align with the company’s reach, engagement, and monetization objectives, implementing a “windowing strategy” to maximize distribution across multiple platforms. Under his leadership, Ignacio Meyer will continue to manage the core U.S. business, as well as music and audio content teams. Rafael Urbina will oversee digital and streaming operations, performance marketing, and CRM, focusing on driving adoption, increasing consumption, and optimizing the global user experience.

Olek Loewenstein will continue leading the sports business unit, working closely with the Global Content Organization to strengthen the company’s sports offerings.

The announcement also included the decision to implement workforce changes. The company emphasized its commitment to supporting affected employees during this transition, acknowledging the challenges these decisions present.
