Oscar Suris
TelevisaUnivision appointed Oscar Suris as Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, a role charged with shaping and advancing the company’s global narrative. Reporting to Chief Administrative Officer Jose Tomas, Suris will lead enterprise-wide communications to enhance TelevisaUnivision’s strategic positioning, elevate its presence across key markets, and strengthen engagement with audiences, partners, and employees. He will oversee corporate, content, brand, community relations, and employee communications across the U.S. and Mexico, ensuring a powerful and cohesive voice that drives reputation, trust, and growth.
Suris is a globally recognized communications executive with a distinguished 30-year career spanning Fortune 100 corporations, journalism, and leading global agencies, where he has guided iconic brands through complex transformations, built and inspired high-performing global teams, and delivered strategic narratives that strengthen trust, shape culture, and advance business objectives. Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Suris currently lives in Charlotte, N.C., with his family.

Most recently, Suris was Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at Duke Energy, leading a 100-member integrated team across enterprise communications, brand, public affairs, and crisis management. He drove a department-wide redesign, launched a unified enterprise narrative, and led award-winning communications during Hurricane Helene that earned the company four PRSA Silver Anvils.
Previously, he was President of Edelman New York, the agency’s largest global office with 800+ employees, and held senior roles at Zeno Group and within the DJE Holdings network, advising clients including SC Johnson, the U.S. Postal Service, and Robinhood. Earlier, Suris spent nine years as Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications at Wells Fargo, leading a 450-person global team through the Wachovia acquisition, the Great Recession, and the company’s post-2016 reputation recovery. He also held communications leadership roles at Ford Motor Company during the 2008 auto industry crisis and at AutoNation. Suris began his career as a journalist, reporting business news for The Wall Street Journal, The Orlando Sentinel, and The Miami News.
