Groupe TF1 has reported it captured a 26.8% audience share among individuals aged 4 and above, with dominance in key commercial demographics: 33.5% among women under 50, 30.5% among 25-49-year-olds, and 33% among 15-34-year-olds. Despite the challenges posed by the Paris Olympics, TF1 expanded its audience share to 18.7% overall.

TF1’s news programming was a standout, with both its 1 PM and 8 PM broadcasts achieving remarkable growth. The 1 PM news attracted 4.6 million viewers on average, holding a commanding 41% share of individuals aged 4 and above. Meanwhile, the 8 PM news posted a 27.5% share with 5.2 million viewers, marking its widest lead over competitors in a decade. The breakfast show “Bonjour!” saw rapid growth, doubling its audience share to 9% in just 12 months.

Drama and entertainment were pivotal to TF1’s success. The drama series “HPI” delivered the biggest audience of the year with 9.7 million viewers for its Season 4 premiere, while new launches like “Cat’s Eyes” and “Mademoiselle Holmes” drew 6.7 million and 6.1 million viewers, respectively. Additionally, the long-running daily soap “Plus belle la vie” was revitalized, attracting 3 million viewers across TF1’s channels and streaming platform.

Entertainment shows also excelled, with “Les Enfoirés” leading the year’s entertainment ratings at 9.4 million viewers, followed by “Miss France” with 7.4 million. Other audience favorites included “Star Academy,” “Danse avec les Stars,” and “The Voice,” each continuing to draw millions. Gameshow “Les 12 coups de midi” enjoyed its best year yet, particularly among younger demographics.

Sports programming reached new heights with the UEFA Euro 2024 football match between Spain and France, drawing 16.1 million viewers – the highest sports audience of the year. Rugby also performed well, with 7.6 million viewers tuning in for the France vs. New Zealand autumn test match. In cinema, TF1 claimed the top four slots for movie audiences, led by “Maison de retraite” with 7 million viewers.

TF1+ emerged as the leading free streaming platform in France, amassing nearly 4 million daily streamers and over 3.5 billion video views in 2024. The platform introduced groundbreaking technologies, such as the Synchro group recommendation engine and TOP Chrono real-time highlights. It also expanded into Francophone markets and enriched its library through partnerships, offering 30,000 hours of premium content.

TF1 announced ambitious plans for 2025, including the premieres of new dramas like “Erica” and “Joseph,” as well as the continuation of popular series such as “The Voice” and “Koh Lanta.” The network also plans to celebrate its 50th anniversary with special programming events.

Rodolphe Belmer, TF1 group Chairman & CEO, said: “Our people have done an amazing job to deliver such exceptional viewing figures, both on our linear channels and with the spectacular launch of TF1+, our new free streaming platform. With 18 billion hours viewed since the start of the year across our TV channels and TF1+, our content is embedded in the daily life of our nation, and is the bedrock of French popular culture. And thanks to its quality and mass reach, our news coverage – now more watched than ever – contributes significantly to the national democratic debate.”
