The Format People and Litopos Producciones form strategic alliance

International formats consultancy The Format People and Latin American TV content providers Litopos Producciones have inked a new strategic alliance to develop joint initiatives that build on each other’s strengths.

International formats consultancy The Format People (TFP) and Latin American TV content providers Litopos Producciones have inked a new strategic alliance to develop joint initiatives that build on each other’s strengths. The new collaboration will see the two companies create, develop, and produce new unscripted formats aimed initially at the rapidly growing Latin American market, followed by a global roll-out across multiple territories.

“The Format People bring original cleverly simple ideas and meticulous development to the table, as well as consummate experience and great contacts in the international formats marketplace,”  commented Juan Maldonado, CEO of Litopos Producciones.

“Juan and his team at Litopos originate and produce top-quality television and have a powerful understanding and well-earned reputation in Latin America, so together we can create, produce and bring to the market compelling content across genres and for all platforms,”  added Michel Rodrigue, CEO of The Format People.

The two companies have collaborated on various projects over recent years, including two seasons of TFP’s hit international culinary format “Chef in your Ear,” created by TFP’s CCO Justin Scroggie, and currently have several jointly developed formats under consideration with Netflix Latin America, Televisa in Mexico, and RCN in Colombia.

Litopos produce a variety of reality, game shows, and live events. Recent productions include “Mexico’s Next Top Model” (three seasons for Sony Latin America), “Acapulco Shore” (four seasons for MTV/ViacomCBS), “Así Somos” (for Unicable/Televisa), and live events such as “Lucha Libre AAA Mexico”.
